Wendy L. Wright is an adult and family nurse practitioner and the owner of Wright & Associates Family Healthcare. In addition, she is a partner with Partners in Healthcare Education, a medical education company.
Wendy is a 1992 graduate of the Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, and completed a family nurse practitioner post–master’s program in 1995.
She is the Past President of Nurse Practitioner Associates for Continuing Education and the Senior Lecturer for Fitzgerald Health Education Associates. She is the recipient of numerous awards and was chosen by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as the 1999 recipient of the New Hampshire State Excellence Award. In addition, she was recently inducted into the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Fellow, a position held by only 200 other nurse practitioners throughout the country.
Wendy presents nationally to different audiences and has been a speaker at more than 300 conferences in 42 states. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Wyoming–Graduate Nursing Program, on Medscape’s Ask the Expert Nurse Practitioner Web site, and is an editorial board member for Medscape’s e-journal. She is Editor-in-Chief of APCToday.com, a Web site designed to provide comprehensive clinical and practice information to the advanced practice clinician. Wendy has served as consultant to a number of pharmaceutical companies, medical offices, and corporations. She has been a medical media spokesperson for several companies and has appeared on radio, television, and in print magazines. As a family nurse practitioner, she also has served as an expert witness in medical malpractice cases and is frequently consulted by malpractice attorneys about matters of clinical practice.
